Customer I know for nearly 10 years now contacted me recently asking if I could help her with living room renovation. This is how busy the living space looked like thanks to three joyfull little faces.

Surely I asked what she had in mind and she pulled her phone out saying "I saw this "Ikea hack" on Pintrest...". After flicking through couple of pictures I said"You know what? I love it! Let's do it".

After 30 mins brain storming, measuring, checking, and coming up with more ideas we finally had a plan. The job was to install Ikea Billy units so they look like bespoke furniture.

Build two alcoves with stone cladding, dimmable down light and 6 electrical points on the bottom one for, router, skybox, xbox, ps5 and gamepad chargers. Also, I was to run ethernet cable to a different location and install Network switch to connect ethernet points from upstairs and house alarm box.

Fit 4 also dimmable downlights a front of the shelving unit. Run inside the wall multiple HDMI and ethernet cables between bottom alcove and TV unit. Install electrical sockets behind the TV for the unit itself, wifi extender and soundbar.

Window opening needed repairs after windows were installed several years ago. Removing cables and brackets from the walls where the surround speakers were installed by previous owner of the house. Removing speakers and patching holes in the ceiling. Hanging new ceiling lamp and paint the ceiling, walls, baseboards and architraves.

O boy that was some busy time. Final result? I'll let you be the judge of that 😉. Enjoy!
